The Fiscal Cliff and why we can’t avoid it.

leave a comment »

The fiscal cliff is the expiration of the Bush tax cuts at year-end, just as $110 billion in automatic defense and domestic spending cuts — part of the 2011 debt ceiling increase package — kick in with the New Year. About that time, the federal statutory debt ceiling of $16.3 trillion will be breached as well.

Extend and Pretend

Extend the tax cut for a short period. Kick the can down the road on spending cuts. Roll out all the old accounting gimmicks we’ve seen before to put off reality as long as possible when the debt ceiling is breached. Patch together temporary extensions in the debt ceiling as the debates and standstills continue.

It is true that the so-called “fiscal cliff” is the convergence of a lot of things at the same time. But don’t for a minute think that Washington can do anything to keep us from going over the economic edge and plunging into the abyss below.

Because we have already gone over the cliff. One simple metric makes it clear …

In July the government released the gross domestic product numbers for the second quarter of 2012. The part of the story that didn’t make the evening news is this: The federal government added $2.33 in debt for every $1 increase in GDP.

Are you prepared for what is coming?

U.S. on the Road to Serfdom

leave a comment »

The U.S. government department heads are running  amuck, showering US citizens with a truck load of nanny-state rules and illegal  takings.  We can clearly see a monstrous  staff of socialistic-communists bent upon imposing their personal rule and will  upon the American people…all this with no legal authority.

Being “politically correct” is censorship,  but just without burning books in the streets like the Nazi’s did in that era.  Our new capital controls, border controls and mail censorship forces compliance  where you have difficulty moving money for normal commerce and in some cases,  cannot use paper documents.  For example,  if you are sending a gift overseas, the documents are filed on the internet or,  you cannot send the gift.  This is just a  warm-up. The real fun starts later on, after Obama is re-elected by those needy  welfare voters who receive all the government checks he promises to  deliver…forever.

This is the way it started in Germany in the 1930s  and of course after the Russian Revolution in that nation in 1917.  I think the nasty old Russian men like  Stalin, Trotsky, Lenin and their henchmen are rolling over in their graves  laughing at America and what she is doing today to create self-inflicted  socio-economic wounds.

Prepping for Doomsday -Interesting new TV Show

with one comment

There is a new TV is a new show on National Geographic called “Doomsday Preppers.” If you haven’t see it, it is “on-demand” and pretty interesting. If you think back a few year, this type of show would have been some show on a obscure youtube channel put on by a guy in a tin foil hat as far as the view from the greater portion of the population. Just the fact that this show is on prime time on a popular channel and the possibilities are being discussed, gives us hope that people are waking up and that real change will be demanded from those who can make a difference. If we are going to have a mobocracy, we might as well have it work for the greater good of America. Be prepared

Why Ron Paul?

with 2 comments

Why Dr. Paul can win, not only the early primaries, but the nomination and the general election. Voters are fed up with with years of stagnation and become convinced that Dr. Paul has the best prescription for fixing the economy. He polls especially well among young people, important for getting out the vote in the Iowa caucuses and elsewhere. In addition to winning his core supporters, Paul adds many moderates and liberals who are furious at the waste of blood and treasure in the Iraq war, now finally ended. He adds those who believe the federal government should not regulate abortion or marriage.

Dr. Paul has been consistent in his positions from day one and the voters will recognize they will “get what they vote for”.  Trust is fleeting today and Ron Paul brings a level of integrity, individualism and common sense to the nation.

Could 2012 Presidential Election be America’s last?

Since taking office, instead of helping the economy, Obama has purposely  escalated the economic crisis by plunging the country into unprecedented debt.  He has a number of programs that are designed to go into effect in January 2013,  just in time for his second term of office.  The economic burden and  increased taxes on everyone will be enough to cause the final economic collapse  of the country.  As soon as that happens, Obama declares Martial Law and  assumes dictatorial control of the nation.

The Department of Justice has already been subverting federal laws to strip  us of a number of freedoms.  The Supreme Court and many of the other  federal courts have been seeded with socialistic liberal judges that will rule  in Obama’s favor on virtually anything, thus ending constitutional rule and  law.

Free Markets and the Price of Oil

with 4 comments

About seven years ago natural gas was around $12.  Now it’s trading around $4.00.  What drove this dramatic price drop while oil was rising in price.   One answer, free markets.  The natural gas resources are here in North America, and the drillers were not restricted to explore and develop those reserves.  The drilling created an abundent supply of gas, thus driving down the price.  At the same time, the Obama administration and the anti-oil crowd has restricted drilling for oil here and is making us more dependent on foreign supply.  If we want cheap oil, all we need to do is follow the example of natural gas and the price will be driven down by market forces, not by government.

More Jobs going to China

It was announced yesterday that NIKE will be building another corporate campus in China rather than expanding their Beaverton, OR headquarters.  I wonder how many land use permits they had to get in China?  How about resrictions on employment and requirements for medical insurance.  It’s too bad that great American companies feel it is easier to do business in China than here at home.  Say good bye to all the constructions jobs lost to build the new campus as well as the 1,000+ new middle-class jobs that will be filled by Chinese rather than Americans.  Mr. Obama, shame on you.  If Ron Paul were President, the restrictions would be removed and employment would grow.
