Sinking to 3rd World Status

with 5 comments

What characteristics define a 3rd world country?  High unemployment, lack of economic opportunity, low wages, widespread poverty, extreme concentration of wealth, unsustainable government debt, control of the government by international banks and multinational corporations, weak rule of law and counterproductive government policies.  All of these characteristics are evident in the U.S.

Other factors include poor public health, nutrition and education, as well as lack of infrastructure.  Public health and nutrition in the U.S., while below European standards, stand well above those of 3rd world countries.  American public education now ranks behind poorer ountries, like Estonia, but remains superior to that of 3rd world countries.  While crumbling infrastructure can be seen in cities across America, the vast infrastructure of the United States cannot be compared to a 3rd world country.  However, all of these factors will rapidly deteriorate in a declining economy.

More Jobs going to China

It was announced yesterday that NIKE will be building another corporate campus in China rather than expanding their Beaverton, OR headquarters.  I wonder how many land use permits they had to get in China?  How about resrictions on employment and requirements for medical insurance.  It’s too bad that great American companies feel it is easier to do business in China than here at home.  Say good bye to all the constructions jobs lost to build the new campus as well as the 1,000+ new middle-class jobs that will be filled by Chinese rather than Americans.  Mr. Obama, shame on you.  If Ron Paul were President, the restrictions would be removed and employment would grow.

H.R. 1388 Passed

As taxpayers we just spent more than $20M to relocate members and supporters of Hamas (terrorist organization) to the United States.  We are paying for their housing, food and transportation.  This was passed behind our backs.

Few on Capitol Hill or in the media, took note that the Presidential Order provides a free airline ticket, replete with housing to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement.   Let’s see if there is outrage since we are embattled with debt ceiling limit or budget issues and this give-a-way to our enemies.  Don’t believe me:

What would Obama Do? (WWOD)

I sit hear listening to Obama blast Libyan leader Khaddafi for using force to defend his government and I wonder how Obama would react if there was an uprising here?  Do you think for 1 second that he would take his own advise and step down?  No, he would declare Marshall Law and bring in the troops to defend his government.  That is his right.  So why doesn’t he let Khaddafi defend his government?  Don’t get me wrong,  I am in no way a supporter of anything Middle-east (except maybe cheap oil or Israel).

Quit meddling in the affairs of others, that means other governments as well as the affairs of us liberty loving Americans.

Medical Fraud in Madison:

What is occurring in Madison,  has become a microcosm of what is happening across America: conservative care givers are being blocked by progressive liberals.  In Wisconsin, the elected Governor and conservative legislature are trying to institute rational, humane treatment to a sick patient, the state of Wisconsin’s failed economy. Unfortunately, progressive liberal statists and unions, as self-appointed “family members” of the patient, have decided to withhold treatment by NOT allowing the caregivers in the room and by trying to hide the patient in another state.

Budget Deficit 1.6T – Are you kidding me?

with 2 comments

Obama is asking us to borrow 1.6T for fiscal year 2012.  The projections are phony.  He is assuming growth rates that are unrealistic.   I hope that Ron & Rand Paul and Paul Ryan call his bluff and not raise the debt ceiling.

Please have a backbone and save our country.

Census Again

For the fourth time, I have been asked to complete the 2010 census.  Let’s see, I submitted each of the previous three forms and each time telling the census bureau that I already completed the survey.  Now they have the 3 individuals who live in my house counted 4 times.  WOW, I didn’t know the sate of Oregon was so desperate to add an additional congressional seat.
