Gov’t Unemployment Numbers Explained by Abbott and Costello

leave a comment »

COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America.

ABBOTT: Good Subject. Terrible Times. It’s 7.8%.

COSTELLO: That many people are out of work?

ABBOTT: No, that’s 14.7%.

COSTELLO: You just said 7.8%.

ABBOTT: 7.8% Unemployed.

COSTELLO: Right 7.8% out of work.

ABBOTT: No, that’s 14.7%.

COSTELLO: Okay, so it’s 14.7% unemployed.

ABBOTT: No, that’s 7.8%.

COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 7.8% or 14.7%?

ABBOTT: 7.8% are unemployed. 14.7% are out of work.

COSTELLO: If you are out of work, you are unemployed.

ABBOTT: No, Congress said you can’t count the “Out   of Work” as the unemployed. You have to look for work to be   unemployed.

COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!

ABBOTT: No, you miss his point.

COSTELLO: What point?

ABBOTT: Someone who doesn’t look for work can’t be   counted with those who look for work. It wouldn’t be fair.

COSTELLO: To whom?

ABBOTT: The unemployed.

COSTELLO: But ALL of them are out of work.

ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work.   Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up, you are no   longer in the ranks of the unemployed.

COSTELLO: So if you’re off the unemployment roles, that   would count as less unemployment?

ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!

COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you   don’t look for work?

ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down. That’s how it gets to   7.8%. Otherwise it would be 14.7%.

COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there   are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?

ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.

COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?

ABBOTT: Correct.

COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop   looking for a job?

ABBOTT: Bingo.

COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down,   and the easier of the two is to have people stop looking for work.

ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like an Economist.

COSTELLO: I don’t even know what the hell I just   said!

ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like Congress.

Hyper Grid-lock in D.C. is in store for 2013

leave a comment »

Hyper-gridlock in D.C. If you think the last few years have been ugly, wait until you live through 2013. Congress is in a non-election year and the President is in his final term, so both sides will be bolder than ever when it comes to drawing a line in the sand. Post-Fiscal Cliff deal the IMF and Moody’s have come out with statements, Moody’s saying, “Medium term actions may be needed to support Aaa” and the IMF says, “More remains to be done on U.S. public finances.” The odds of anything being done about our fiscal mess is probably pretty low, since the entire revenues of the U.S. pay for just our entitlements and interest on our debt. Borrowed money goes towards everything else in the Federal Government including the entire defense budget. Fixing the U.S. spending problem with the very people who advocate for more government and cherish their pet projects is probably impossible. Expect significant volatility during the debt ceiling increase and the new fiscal cliff deadline in 60 days, both these political talks will create excellent opportunities to trade as well as buy in on any big dips of companies you may be watching.

Ban Public Schools, Not Guns

Columbine. Virginia Tech. Newtown. What do they have in common? They are shorthand for “tax-funded schools where mass murderers plied their trade.” The murderers all were students in, or graduates of, the tax-funded, state-run educational system in the United States.

Top Reasons why America will NOT turn around for 20 years.

leave a comment »

Dollar Decline – The continuation of dollar devaluation through inflation, leading to the end of the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. Additional downgrades of America’s credit rating. Probable 30+% inflation, gas prices by 2015 of $ 8 per gal. A National Debt by 2016 of $ 32 trillion.

Continued deficit spending – Massive increases of government spending at a minimum of $1.7 trillion per year. Healthcare costs skyrocketing to $1 trillion per year. Spending carryovers from 2012 of over $ 200 billion. $40 billion monthly (1/2 trillion in 12 months) mandated spending through 2013 just printed money backed by nothing. (Medical costs for 2011 were $ 835 billion they double every 7 years)

Pandering to Middle East – The continued failure of foreign policy through increased violence in the Middle East. Further growth of Islamic fundamentalism and the Muslim Brotherhood. Expanded assassinations with drones, of Obama identified terrorists. Expansion of wars in the Middle East most likely with Syria and Iran.

Internet spying – Massive attacks on the Internet, and free speech. The development of cybersecurity in the fake support of anti-terrorism. The opening of a new NSA managed security operation, which is actually a violation of the 4th and 1st amendments, cataloguing every American. Attacks on free speech through the use of controlling social media by restricting individual and group access to the Internet, something that is already operational. The control of web content. Restriction of Internet IPO’s whose allocation will be turned over to an international body.

Supreme Count moving left – Two more leftist Supreme Court justices turning the Supreme Court into an leftist majority that will internationalize American jurisprudence, destroy what ever little is left of the constitution, and complete America’s journey to socialism.

Excessive regulation – The regulatory juggernaut that began on the first day of the Obama administration will be greatly expanded to destroy American free enterprise of every sort. Any company successful will be relentlessly attacked by over-regulation. This will destroy jobs and foster business nationalizations.

Shutting down Americas Energy – Green energy in the form of solar and wind electric energy production, and electric cars all of which are non-competitive on the marketplace, without huge government subsidies (your paid taxes) will be expanded. These are the very policies that have brought Spain to bankruptcy. They will waste billions more, (six billion of bankruptcy’s in first term) drive fuel prices through the roof, eliminate coal as an energy product, eliminate Alaskan oil production, prevent the Keystone pipeline from Canada forcing Canada to sell their oil to China, drive all costs of energy and food up, and reek havoc with the entire economy.

Illegal Explosion – There will be amnesty for 25 million illegal immigrants. This will almost immediately bankrupt the entire welfare systems including Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare, and Social Security.

There does not appear any way to turn America around, at least not in the next generation or two.

U.S. on the Road to Serfdom

The U.S. government department heads are running  amuck, showering US citizens with a truck load of nanny-state rules and illegal  takings.  We can clearly see a monstrous  staff of socialistic-communists bent upon imposing their personal rule and will  upon the American people…all this with no legal authority.

Being “politically correct” is censorship,  but just without burning books in the streets like the Nazi’s did in that era.  Our new capital controls, border controls and mail censorship forces compliance  where you have difficulty moving money for normal commerce and in some cases,  cannot use paper documents.  For example,  if you are sending a gift overseas, the documents are filed on the internet or,  you cannot send the gift.  This is just a  warm-up. The real fun starts later on, after Obama is re-elected by those needy  welfare voters who receive all the government checks he promises to  deliver…forever.

This is the way it started in Germany in the 1930s  and of course after the Russian Revolution in that nation in 1917.  I think the nasty old Russian men like  Stalin, Trotsky, Lenin and their henchmen are rolling over in their graves  laughing at America and what she is doing today to create self-inflicted  socio-economic wounds.

Prepping for Doomsday -Interesting new TV Show

with one comment

There is a new TV is a new show on National Geographic called “Doomsday Preppers.” If you haven’t see it, it is “on-demand” and pretty interesting. If you think back a few year, this type of show would have been some show on a obscure youtube channel put on by a guy in a tin foil hat as far as the view from the greater portion of the population. Just the fact that this show is on prime time on a popular channel and the possibilities are being discussed, gives us hope that people are waking up and that real change will be demanded from those who can make a difference. If we are going to have a mobocracy, we might as well have it work for the greater good of America. Be prepared

Greek Bailout will make everthing worse.

leave a comment »

After receiving a $145 billion bailout in May 2010, Greece is now seeking a second larger bailout from the European Union (EU) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Here we go again. Of course, throwing even more money at the European welfare state won’t solve its problems.  The Greek government created their own problems by rapidly expanding the welfare state over the past couple decades. A second U.S. taxpayer-financed bailout of Greece will only make the debt situation worse in the long-run.

Greece is a prime example of how socialism doesn’t work in practice. As U.K. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher said, “the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” Greece’s government debt as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is a staggering 140 percent. The size of Greece’s bloated public sector is unsustainable. One out of every five Greeks is employed by the government. Some employees in the Greece Parliament do not even bother showing up to work because there are not enough places for all of them to sit, according to the New York
