Obama Cabinet, full of tax cheats

leave a comment »

Here is another conflict of interest.  Tom Daschle, the former SD senator picked by  Obama to run the nation’s healthcare system, received $220,000 in speaking fees from health care groups with an interest in the work he would do once confirmed as health chief.

In addition, he joins Timothy Geithner who also failed to pay taxes.  Daschle, failed to pay taxes from monies earn from health care groups, such as the Health Industry Distributors Association.

It is reported that Daschle for the Department of Health and Human Services job, failed to pay $128,203 in back taxes and $11,964 in interest.  Tax cheats can apply for high level postions within the democratic party.

Obama Quote

with 4 comments

“The future is not inherited, it is achieved.” This sounds like a perfectly good conservative statement, right? It was from JFK. I wish Obama would adhere to the terms of the real democratic party of the late 50’s/early 60’s. If he did we would all be better off.

Obama Inauguration Costs

with 5 comments

Isn’t funny that today the liberal media is no where to be found when analyzing and reporting on the cost of the Obama inauguration?  Remember back four years ago, the media said that it was in poor taste for Republicans to spend $40 million on President Bush’s inauguration.  It was reported that the money could be used to help victims of the tsunami or to pay down the debt.  It was suggested that the inauguration functions be cancelled.

Today, what is the liberal media saying about the estimated $45M-$70M price tag for the Obama coronation?  Nothing.  We are in the midst of a severe recession and federal budget deficits that will exceed $1 trillion and still not a hint of a word about scaling back the party.   If we follow the AP’s suggestion from four years ago, why don’t we just cancel the inauguration?  Oh, I almost forgot, this is a coronation not an inauguration.

Obama Memorabilia

with 3 comments

I bet that NIKE or Adidas are kicking themselves for not signing Obama to an endorsement contract.  A report from CNBC touts that “Obama is breaking records for the most merchandise sold of a single person in the history of the world over the last two and half months“.   Here is the tally:

  • QVC has sold over 100,000 items so far
  • QVC will have an Inauguration Show next week which is sure to double that number
  • Merrick Mint, selling colorized quarters with Obama’s face $15 million.
  • Major newspapers are selling “commemorative” back issues from Nov. 4 for more than five times the cover price.
  • There’s even a “Hot 4 Barack” Hot Sauce.

What is funny about this, is that the makers of the products do not have to cut Obama in on any of the profits.  Oh, I almost forgot, some of the profits from the sales will be confiscated in the form of income taxes.  I guess Obama will get the last laugh.

Omama Stimulus

with 2 comments

Here we go again, a stimulus package that will be funded by the producers in the economy.  He is penalizing the productive members of society while giving a tax credit to those who are less productive.

Obama is threatening that if we do not pass his stimulus package that we will be mired in a recession for years.  Is he positioning himself for a failure and going to blame the lack of a recovery on Bush?  It all starts in a couple of weeks and from day one he will be running for reelection in 2012.

Margaret Thatcher once said:  “The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”   There will come a time when the baby boomers are retired and the drain on the economy will be so great that the printing presses will have to work overtime.
